[July 8, 2024] Digital IP entertainment company IPX (formerly LINE FRIENDS) has signed a global partnership with the global interactive entertainment brand “HoyoVerse (HoyoVerse)” to promote various IP businesses using the game IP of “Genshin Impact (Genshin Impact).” Based on IPX's unrivaled creative capabilities, character IP development, and business expertise built over 10 years, it is expected that it will have a fresh impact on the character and game industry.

“Wonshin,” which has recorded more than 100 million monthly global users, has rapidly emerged as a representative open world adventure RPG game with open world gameplay and a worldview with highly perfected characters since its launch in 2020. With its high-quality graphics and highly immersive narrative, it has entered Korea, China, and Japan, as well as North America and Europe, and is captivating global gamers. Wonshin IP's character business, which is gaining popularity, is attracting attention from the industry because it is the first case in Korea to develop a professional business hand in hand with an external IP company.

As part of this strategic partnership with “Wonshin,” IPX unveiled the character “Genshin minini (Genshin minini)” for the first time on the 5th by combining the original character IP of “Wonshin” with its popular IP “minini (minini).” Including “Paimon,” the eternal icon of the “Genshin” game, it consists of 7 popular characters from Inazuma (Raiden Shogun, Ayato, Ayaka, Kazuha, Kokomi, Yoimiya, and Taromaru) from the 7 regions within “Genshin,” and IPX will be showcasing new regional characters every year thereafter.

In particular, IPX plans to maximize the fun of game content based on the “Wonshin Minnie” IP and develop various licensing businesses and collaborations to expand the appeal of IP to diversify IP experiences that can be enjoyed by a wide range of age groups and people of various tastes beyond existing game fans. Starting with a license business in Japan in the second half of this year, LINE FRIENDS Store Gangnam opened an exclusive domestic pop-up, and gradually expanded its business to the global region to expand points of contact with fans around the world.

An IPX official said, “We expect it to be a partnership that maximizes the competitiveness of both companies by providing a new IP experience by reinterpreting the character IP of the game 'Wonshin', which is very popular around the world, with IPX's unique business expertise and creativity,” and “I hope this collaboration will break down the barriers between different fandoms so that more fans can feel the appeal of character IP and the joy of the game at the same time.”

A Hoyo Bus official said, “We hope that many users will like Wonshin Minini, which is newly introduced along with IPX, which has high capabilities in the global IP business,” and “there are many events, such as offline pop-ups, being prepared in the future, so please look forward to new experiences.”

Meanwhile, IPX, which is creating a new IP business success method by developing its IP, the differentiated IP business of Supercell's “Brawl Stars” and the IP business related to K-Pop artists globally, plans to consolidate its IP business expertise and influence in the game IP field through this partnership with Hoyo Bus.
